Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress, who is employed in television, film and theatre. She's best known as Teri Joe, the flamboyant lawyer from the Showtime show Soul Food. In the years following her marriage the actress is now known as Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an aptitude for acting in her when she was a child and won the Best Actress award at a Maryland high school competition. Her career in acting started after she worked in the Washington Ballet Company and theatre. She received a lot of praise for her first large role as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. After that, she appeared in movies such as "Boogie Nights Spark" and "Blue Streak". The TV show Soul Food' was immensely loved. Also, she appeared in TV shows like Second Time Around 'and Empire. Prior to that, Parker appeared in many stages. Parker is married to Boris Kodjoe, an actor and model. The couple has two kids.

Contractor who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai when he was 7years old, traveled all over all over the world and had a taste of diverse cultures when he was a kid. The boarding school she attended was in London from seven to nine years of age, and then her family moved to Toronto, Canada, where she lived for the bulk of her early childhood and adulthood. Contractor studied classical ballet in Toronto. Additionally, she excelled academically. She went to the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It is a special school for arts and sciences, where she did not only study theater but danced as well. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that acting was going to be her future career. Dance was her passion for over a decade. After graduating high school, she received a full-time grant to attend Toronto's University of Toronto, where she completed a masters degree in the field of theatre, and a double major in psychology and sociology. Contractor was cast in her first show following her first year at university. Her performance was lauded for the 92 shows which she was a part of. The play won her an award in 2002, which was awarded to the best production of the Year from Canadian critics. She was given the chance to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory. The school allows only eight males and four woman to study traditional theater. Contractor was eager to accept. Contractor's spot was assured for the following season of shows as she was offered the role in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
